Wind & Weather
Despite adverse weather conditions, the Touratech Active Adventure was once again a huge success. Around 350 adventure riders drove their bikes over unique off-road routes and experienced the spirit of the community.
Spinning tyres, splashing mud and many a slip – and yet only smiling faces whichever way you look. The adventure riders, some of whom had come from far away, took on the additional challenges that the early autumn weather brought with it enthusiastically. And many of them had the great experience of managing to defy their own limits and master difficulties that had been perceived as insurmountable before this event.
Twelve offroad routes that could only be ridden on this weekend were available to the participants in Active Adventure 2022. Gravel, mud, forest paths – the most diverse conditions challenged everyone's riding skills. And if anyone got stuck, there was always a helping hand nearby. For the adventurers on their bikes, the motto was: there's no such thing as bad weather, there's only bad equipment. Accordingly, despite the wet and temperatures around five degrees Celsius, many participants took up the camping offer and stayed overnight in a tent.
These tough riders' hearts were warmed during the evening lectures by Andreas Hülsmann and Jens Kuck. And a touch of desert heat was conveyed by the Yamaha Ténéré Spirit Camp, which took place at the same time on the Touratech premises.
Touratech would like to thank all the participants, the organising team from the Good Souls agency, the more than twelve clubs involved at the stations, the route coordinators, around 200 helpers, all the residents and neighbours and, of course, the owners of the sites.
Thanks also go to our partners Yamaha, KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas, Enduropark Hechlingen, SENA, Edelweiss Bike Travel and REV'IT! who enriched the event with their presence.
The next Active Adventure will take place from 14 to 16 September, 2023. Anyone interested should keep an eye on our website – this year's event was fully booked within a few days.
